Jack Carr: Student Director of Representation, Students’ Association (2016/17)
I was elected to be the Director of Representation for the Students’ Association in March 2016. I have overall responsibility and oversight for all our activities within the broad remit of Education, Wellbeing, Equal Opportunities and Democracy. This includes Saints LGBT+, our subcommittee in the Students’ Association!
I grew up in the North East of Scotland in a place with only four houses, so coming to St Andrews was actually a pretty big deal. It was at University that I was able to meet other LGBTIQ+ individuals, and the welcoming nature of the community here had a big impact upon me. My main interests are Architectural History (My degree was in Medieval History and Archaeology), baking cakes, eating cakes, and both the expansion and depletion of my gin and whisky collections.
