Using the University Libraries safely
Did you miss the Library talks during Orientation week? Catch-up now. You can view a recording for Undergraduates or Postgraduates.
The majority of essential Undergraduate resources are available through online reading lists (check our guide for help) and the Libraries provide access to a large amount of diverse and high-quality material digitally or online. The click and collect and the scanning service is now available only for accessing material held in the Walter Bower House Library.
University staff and students are welcome to use the Main Library. Although study seats must be pre-booked in this building, there is no need to book if you want to borrow or return an item or talk to staff at the IT or Library Service Desks.
You can book up to 4 sessions of 3 hours per week (a total of up to 12 hours). Booking is open 5 days in advance.
The other libraries, St Mary's and King James, JF Allen, Gateway, Martyrs (for Postgraduates and staff) and the newly opened Walter Bower House Library, are drop-in spaces, there is no need to pre-book to visit.
When you visit any of the University Libraries, always remember to wear your face covering, bring your ID card, and use the hand sanitiser before and after browsing the bookshelves.
Check the spaces page for opening times and facility information.
