Special Leave

The special leave policy applies to all employees regardless of length of service, hours of work, job family or grade. It provides for a range of leave options not met by other policies. For example compassionate leave, jury service, etc.

Flexible Working

The flexible working policy applies to all employees provided they meet certain conditions and allows employees the right to request to work flexibly.

Career Break

Once an employee has worked for the University for minimum period of 2 years, they may be entitled to apply for a career break.  Please see the career break policy for further details.

Annual Leave Entitlement

The University provides for an annual leave entitlement above the statutory minimum. Please see the annual leave policy for details of entitlements and guidance.

Trade Unions

The University recognises 3 trade unions, namely; UCU, UNISON and UNITE. Please visit the relevant union website or view the recognition agreement between the University and the recognised Trade Unions policy for further details.
