General degree

The General degree is available in the Faculties of Arts, Divinity and Science, as MA (General) and BSc (General). It can be completed in three years, and involves study at 1000, 2000 and 3000 level.

If you start on an Honours degree programme, but do not meet the requirements for entry to Honours, you may need to transfer to a General degree programme.

The General degree requires 60 credits at 3000 level. This means that you need to pass any 2000-level pre-requisite modules necessary to take the 3000-level modules, but there are no higher grade requirements as there are for entry to Honours. The 60 credits at 3000 level do not necessarily have to be in the same subject.
