‌‌Matriculation September 2019

The matriculation event will take place on the following dates in the Gateway building:

  • 9am-5pm Monday 9 - Thursday 12 September 2019
  • 5pm-7pm Monday 9 and Tuesday 10 September 2019 for part-time evening students only

Matriculation is the process of registering as a student with the University and is compulsory for all students, every academic year. Like advising, it has an online part and an event held in orientation, which some students must attend in person.

Online matriculation

The online matriculation facility is accessed through MySaint. Registry will send access details to your University email address in August (or January for semester 2 entrants and those returning from leave of absence).

As part of online matriculation, you may need to:

  • read essential information
  • pay tuition fees
  • pay accommodation fees
  • pay any outstanding debt
  • update personal details
  • complete the online training in good academic practice (sometimes referred to as TGAP)
  • read visa and passport information for UKVI (UK Visas and Immigration) documentation checks
  • sign up to the St Andrews Medical agreement (medicine students only)
  • sign up to the Matriculation Agreement (University terms and conditions)

Matriculation event

The matriculation event takes place in the Gateway building during orientation week, and also in January for students starting in semester 2 or returning from leave of absence.

If you are a new student, or a returning international student (not UK/EU), you must attend the matriculation event in person.

  • New students must bring their passport or UK birth certificate for identity verification.
  • New students must hand in their completed application to register with the Health Centre.
  • International students must also bring their visa or biometric card for a UKVI check.

If you are a returning UK/EU student, you do not need to attend the matriculation event, though you must still complete online matriculation.

‌There will be staff at the event who can assist any students who need help with matriculation.

Failure to matriculate

All elements of matriculation must be completed by the specified deadline, to avoid your studies being terminated.
