Staff development

Your development is important for professional and personal growth for both current roles and future careers. The 70/20/10 model (Lombardo and Eichinger, 1996)  recommends that individuals obtain ‌70 percent of their development from job-related experiences like projects, 20 percent from coaching or mentoring, and 10 percent from formal  training events.

To create your development plan  and optimise your development discuss your plan with your manager during your RDS / or ARDS.

To support your self-directed development OSDS have created a Moodle page that is designed to provide you with a range of online courses covering topics such as communication and team development. The Moodle page will be continually updated to include new material when it becomes available and if you have a particular learning resource that you believe could be hosted here, then please let us know.
