PhD Student Wins Prestigious Travel Grant

10 February 2025

Dimitrios Katsaounis, a PhD student in the Mathematical Biology group, has been awarded the prestigious 2025 London Mathematical Society Cecil King Travel Scholarship for early career mathematicians. This is awarded to ‘a young mathematician of outstanding promise, to support a period of study or research abroad’. The award will enable Dimitrios to visit the University of Vienna for three months.

Remarkably, this is the third consecutive year that a St Andrews PhD student has won this prestigious award, following Alex Rutar in 2023 and Larua Johnson in 2024.
