Meetings of the General Council

The General Council normally meets twice a year: usually on the Saturday following graduation week in June and on a Saturday close to St Andrew's Day in November.

The "billet” (meeting paper), which includes the agenda, is emailed to members in advance of the meeting. Printed copies are normally made available at the meeting and, if required in advance, can be requested from the General Council Office.

Autumn Meeting 2020

Unfortunately, as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, it has not been possible for the University to arrange an in-person meeting of the General Council on Saturday 28 November, 10:30am, as originally planned. However, a video update by the Principal and Vice-Chancellor, Professor Sally Mapstone, will be available on this page on Saturday 28 November at 10.30am, the date and time the meeting was to have taken place. Following the Principal’s address, questions may be submitted by members for written response to: generalcouncil@st-andrews.ac.uk.

A billet (meeting paper) will be circulated to members by email in advance of 28 November. A printed copy will be made available, if required, upon request to the General Council Office (generalcouncil@st-andrews.ac.uk).
