- Two years at Scottish Enterprise working with Scottish Universities raising investment for commercial projects, R&D and company spinouts
- Five years at PA Consulting Group running major change programmes in large public and private sector organisations
- Eight years developing or founding companies in electronic publishing, internet technology and online marketing
- Twelve years consulting for UK (mainly Scottish) universities and public-sector bodies on economic development, commercialising research, industrial partnership, intellectual property, business planning, fund-raising, marketing and strategy

Daughter has had an exceptionally well-taught and supported 4 years at St Andrews and I would like to contribute to the further development of the student experience.
