New students on an online learning programme

If you are matriculating (registering) with the University of St Andrews for the first time, you will need to complete the steps outlined below.

After you have confirmed your acceptance of an offer to study on a postgraduate taught online programme, the team from our Registry department will send you an entrant email. Applications progress at different rates, so do not be concerned if you have not received your email yet; also be sure to check that emails from st-andrews.ac.uk do not go into your junk or spam folder.

Once you have received your entrant email, you should complete the following steps.

Open your computer account and activate your University email.

Your University email address is your username@st-andrews.ac.uk.

Your username is included in the entrant email and should always be lowercase. You will create your password when you open your account.

Once you have opened your email account, you will be able to access it using Office 365. You should check your University email inbox at least every 48 hours as important information is often sent to students by email.
You will need to pay your tuition fees (or set up an instalment plan) in order to fully register with the University.

It is University policy not to send out invoices to students for payment of tuition as all the fee information is published on our web pages.

Entrants should note that it is a condition of registration with the University that they accept liability for their tuition fees.
Online matriculation will be available in MySaint from Monday 26 August 2024. We will email you when the system is open.

The online matriculation process will take you through the elements of registration required for you to become a St Andrews student. You should complete the process before you start your studies.

Access online matriculation in MySaint, on the 'my courses' tab. You must have created your email account to be able to access online matriculation.

If your course requires you to make a choice regarding certain taught modules, please discuss this with your course coordinator.

After matriculation

Once you have completed these steps you will be a fully matriculated student of the University of St Andrews and ready to start your studies with us.
