Thorntons and Rollos are two firms of solicitors with offices in St Andrews who have collaborated with the University to provide a dedicted legal advice line for all students.

The scheme is simple, either email:  or   with your contact information and details of your request for advice.  They will pass this onto the most appropriate member of their legal teams.

Both firms deal with a range of legal matters including:

  • Dispute, Resolution & Claims
  • Personal Injury
  • Start Up Advice for Businesses

The advice line offer up to 30 minutes of free legal advice and is open 9am - 5pm Monday to Friday (excluding bank holidays).


The Scottish Child Law Centre provides free legal advice and information on the law relating to children and young people in Scotland
