Teams Phone

• Make and receive calls

  Once you have been added to the University's Teams Phone plan, restart Microsoft Teams.

  • Make calls
  • Answer a call

  Search for other staff members to call using the search bar in Teams. You can enter their name, username, or extension number.

• Domestic and international calls

  All staff using Teams Phone can place domestic calls.

  If you need to place international calls as part of your role, consult with your budget holder and log a call with the IT Service Desk.

• Manage contacts

  Outlook contacts will sync across to Teams. You can add new contacts within Teams, as well as organise existing contacts into groups and add them to speed dial.

• Call settings and voicemail

  Forwarding

  You can forward calls to another number or Teams member, or ring another number at the same time as your work number. Alternatively, you can download the Teams mobile app.

  Do not disturb and priority access

  Change your Teams status to 'do not disturb' to redirect incoming calls to voicemail or another number. You can give certain colleagues priority access to bypass your do not disturb.

  Voicemail

  You can adjust your voicemail settings, including the ability to:

  • record a specific greeting that applies when you're out of office
  • generate a text-to-speech greeting
  • end incoming calls without a greeting
  • redirect unanswered to another number
