JEL has been, and is currently, an active member of several committees.

Royal Society Hooke Committee. Meets twice a year to select the programme of Royal Society Discussion and Theo-Murphy Meetings. Years active: 2012-2017.

Sub-group of the Hooke Committee to decide upon the Scientific quality of the Royal Society’s international meetings. Years active: 2016-2017.

Co-organiser (Chemistry and Materials) of the UK-Japan Frontiers of Science Meeting to be held in November at Chicheley Hall. Years active: 2016.

International Exchanges Panel for the Royal Society. Years active: 2013-2019.

Member of the EPSRC National EPR Facility and Service Independent Steering Committee. Years active: 2011-2016.

Royal Society of Chemistry ESR subgroup. This includes input into the organisation of the annual RSC ESR conference. Years active: 2012-2015.

PhD examining: 4 internal (Edinburgh and St Andrews) and 1 external (Oxford).

Various other panels and committees including for example, President of the Graduate Common Room (MCR) at St Hilda’s College, Oxford (2003-2004) and taking part in Undergraduate admissions interviewing for Chemists at St Hilda’s (2006-2010).
