Counsellor

Natalie joined the Student Services Team in 2020 as a Student Counsellor. She gained a Batchelor of Science in Psychology and is a fully qualified Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (CBT) after attaining her Diploma from The Glasgow Cognitive Therapy Centre.  She is a member of the BACP, BABCP and COSCA, and is currently working toward accreditation with BABCP.

Natalie has vast experience in the welfare to work sector, managing teams who support those with mental and physical health difficulties to move into employment. She previously worked in the health and nutrition industry whilst living in the USA.  She has provided CBT counselling and group work within the welfare to work sector, in a local private practice, community groups as well as to various UK University students online. Natalie also has experience working on a voluntary basis with the Samaritans.

As a CBT therapist, she will help you explore how what you think and do affects the way you feel. She will support you to set your own goals and help to achieve those goals through positive change in your mental wellbeing, to increase your coping mechanisms and find ways to manage and overcome the challenges you are facing.
