Lindsay McKay
Counsellor
Lindsay is a part-time counsellor with Student Services who joined the team in 2020. She graduated with a degree in Fine Art from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art, but after volunteering with the Samaritans, realised that her true vocation was in counselling and went on to gain a Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling from Abertay University. After her graduation in 2016, she has counselled in the voluntary sector in Dundee with Insight Counselling and in Perth with the Harbour, in the Abertay University student counselling service, and also in her own private practice. She is a registered member of the BACP, and is currently working towards accreditation.
Lindsay is trained in Pluralistic counselling, where she works collaboratively with students to identify the best counselling intervention based on the student’s strengths, preferences and personal situation. Whether a student wants concrete, targeted strategies for change, or just a kind, listening ear, she will do her best to help them deal with the troubles in their life.
