Katherine Halliday
Wellbeing Adviser
Katherine joined the University in 2015 as an administrator within Student Services. In 2018 she moved to the role of Wellbeing Adviser and since 2021 has been working within the Wellbeing Team as a Wellbeing Adviser and Coach. Throughout her time with Student Services Katherine has had the opportunity to work with a number of schools and units across the University, giving her a wide knowledge base from which she can advise and support students.
Prior to working with Student Services, Katherine obtained a BA in English and History from the University of Stirling and worked for six years in hospitality. Katherine also spent two years working as a youth mentor for Tayside Council for Alcohol and spent three years writing for an online youth magazine and travel blog.
Katherine has a Masters in Applied Positive Psychology from the University of Buckinghamshire and a Level 3 Coaching Award from the Institute of Leadership and Management. These qualifications help her to guide students from all walks of university life to achieve their goals or to develop coping strategies which work for them. Her experience and knowledge of positive psychology has helped her to take a mindful, compassionate and strengths-based approach to working with others as well as helping her to develop an insight into the things which help people to flourish.
Outside of work, Katherine enjoys spending time with her husband and two sons, walking and spending time in nature wherever possible. She also enjoys yoga and writing as well as developing her keen love of learning through trying out new things and reading anything and everything she can.
