Joshua Gumbley
Halls Life Coordinator
Josh works as a Halls Life Coordinator, and as Warden of Andrew Melville, University and Whitehorn, and McIntosh Halls is responsible for the Wardennial service in these halls of residence. Josh’s three teams of Assistant Wardens are responsible for providing pastoral care, guidance, and support to students in his halls. In addition, Josh works on projects in the Halls Life Programme which produces activities and events aimed at increasing mental health and wellbeing through the Five Ways to Wellbeing.
Josh spent five years in St Andrews reading for undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in History and International Relations before leaving to work in the public and charity sectors. Josh has worked with the Royal Navy, the Prison and Probation Service, and a small charity focused on disaster relief efforts. He worked as a Civil Servant during the Covid-19 pandemic, coordinating the delivery of testing supplies to NHS England. He returned to St Andrews in August 2021 to take on his current role.
