University Community Fund

Our University Community Fund will enable the University to listen to ideas, adapt to local needs, and provide financial support to deliver tangible benefits for the wider community.

The £30,000-a-year Community Fund will accept applications between £250 and £3000, including those which benefit communities in the local area (St Andrews and neighbouring communities); increase engagement between the University and the community; promote knowledge exchange and widening participation; promote environmental sustainability; promote diversity and inclusion; and celebrate St Andrews and the local area’s heritage, whether physical or cultural.

We are committed to acting for the wider public benefit at all times. This broad commitment shapes our response to the Covid-19 pandemic, and our determination to support our local community through this unprecedented challenge.

We recognise that key to our community’s resilience is the ability of its local leaders, partnerships and volunteers to respond to the needs of residents and overcoming stress and isolation. We want to help amplify these core strengths.

For the Community Fund’s first round the University is particularly keen to receive applications from volunteers delivering vital aid, organisations developing solutions to community needs, and individuals with proposals aimed at supporting others during the Covid-19 crisis.
