Keys and replacements
Your matriculation card, key or keycard will open the front door and bedroom door of your University accommodation. You must always keep your room key or keycard with you.
For security reasons, copies of keys or keycards are not permitted to be made. You should also remove any identifying tags so that if you lose your key, someone won't be able to find and enter your room. Keep any tags originally provided with your key safe and reattach them to your key when you hand your keys in back in at the end of your residence.
If you have questions about the keys and locks, please ask your residence management team.
If you get locked out
If you are locked out of your accommodation, please contact your residence reception or porter (see contact details for individual halls of residence). You may be charged if you are locked out.
Replacing keys
If you lose your key, you should let your residence management team know immediately (see contact details for individual halls of residence). You will be charged for a replacement. If there is a requirement to replace the whole lock, an additional charge will apply.
Please see the terms of occupancy.
