Undergraduate study in Management

Studying management at St Andrews will prepare you for a strong future in the world of management. You will learn about the key techniques employed by marketing professionals and financial analysts, and gain the skills used by successful managers in diverse and challenging situations. You will reflect on your strengths both as an individual and when working as part of a team, in courses designed to teach you to understand how organisations operate.

The School's teaching and research both centre on the key concept of responsible enterprise: an ethical, globally responsible approach to managing organisations, and their social and environmental impacts.

Management graduates of St Andrews have found success in their chosen fields from investment banking to alternative energy firms, and many have gone on to become successful entrepreneurs, consultants, academics, accountants and public servants.

The modules offered in first and second year teach the critical skills necessary for more in-depth study of specialist areas in management at Honours level. No matter how you intend to use your degree when you finish, studying management will develop your employability and self-reliance for a wide range of careers.

Reciprocal arrangements with other universities offer St Andrews students the opportunity to apply for exchange programmes in Australia, Italy, New Zealand and North America, in their third year of study. These exchanges are competitive, and students must demonstrate a strong academic record to be considered. Destinations are reviewed regularly and may change on an annual basis.
