Transfer your St Andrews Academic Documents account when you leave the University
Updated on: 20 November 2025
Continue to access your official academic documents by transferring your account to your personal email account after you graduate or reach the end of your studies.
Your access to your University email account will stop six months after you graduate or end your studies. To ensure continued access to your academic documents, you must transfer your St Andrews Academic Documents account from your University email account to your personal email account.
How to transfer your account
- Log in to St Andrews Academic Documents
- Click Register/Transfer. You will need to provide the following information to transfer your current account to the new email address:
- Student ID
- St Andrews email address
- Known as name
- Date of birth
- Your current address
- New personal email details
After completing the registration process, you will need to verify your personal email account. The system will send you an email with information on the next steps.
Security requirements
As part of the transfer process, you will need to complete biometric verification and set up mandatory multifactor authentication (MFA). These measures are essential to protect the integrity of your academic records.
- Biometric verification ensures that only you can access your documents.
- MFA adds an extra layer of security beyond passwords.
Together, these steps significantly reduce the risk of identity theft, fraud and unauthorised access.
