Mandatory training for employees
Updated on: 28 November 2025
The University requires all new and current employees to complete training courses to meet legal requirements and mitigate potential risks.
The University regularly checks that all employees have completed mandatory training. This helps to reduce risk across the University.
Training must be completed to the following schedule:
- New employees: when you start work with the University.
- Every two years: Data Protection (GDPR), Display screen equipment (DSE), Diversity in the workplace, Information Security Essentials, Recruitment and selection, Safeguarding and the prevent duty.
- Every five years: Unconscious bias.
Reminders for training come from training coordinators and your manager.
