Get bedding for student accommodation

If you are staying in student accommodation, your room does not include bedding. You can:  

• bring your own bedding 
• order a new or sustainable bedding pack to be delivered to your room for the day you arrive 
• get bedding in St Andrews. 

Bed sizes 

There are four sizes of beds in student accommodation. The following are approximate: 

• Single: 3 feet wide (0.91 centimetres) 
• Large single: 3 feet 6 inches wide (1.09 metres) 
• Small double: 4 feet wide (1.21 metres) 
• Double: 4 feet 6 inches wide (1.40 metres).

Undergraduate hall bed sizes

• Agnes Blackadder Hall: double – this also applies to disabled access rooms
• Andrew Melville Hall: small double, except two rooms (C614 and B714) that have single beds
• David Russell Apartments: single in shared rooms, double in single rooms
• Fife Park: double in en suite rooms. Large single in Monaid, Riggs, Kilrule, Muckross, Chariots and Cathedral, where a double-sized duvet and flat sheet are recommended. Single in Garrett, Sellars and Dunlop.
• John Burnet Hall: single
• McIntosh Hall: single
• Powell Hall: small double
• St Regulus Hall: single
• St Salvator's Hall and Gannochy House: single
• University Hall: single
• Whitehorn Hall: single.

Postgraduate hall bed sizes

• Angus House and Stanley Smith House: single, except disabled access rooms, which have double beds
• David Russell Apartments: double
• David Russell Apartments and Fife Park studio apartments: double
• Deans Court: single
• Fife Park – standard rooms: large single in Monad, Riggs, Kilrule, Muckross, Chariots and Cathedral, where a double-sized duvet and flat sheet are recommended. Single in Garrett, Sellars and Dunlop.

Bedding packs

You can order a bedding pack that will be delivered to your room for the day you arrive.  

Bedding packs typically include a:  

• bed sheet 
• pillow 
• pillow case 
• duvet 
• duvet cover.

Get bedding in St Andrews

You may be able to buy bedding in St Andrews from local shops or supermarkets.

You may also be able to get used bedding for free. You can do this through Transition St Andrews, as part of their St AndReuse scheme.
