Learn what academic documents you can access online as a current student, June 2025 graduate or alumni, and how to gain access to them.


St Andrews Academic Documents offers a convenient way to obtain, store and share essential University documents, whilst protecting them against fraud. The services allows you to:

  • access records securely online using digital document viewing
  • share your documents with third parties like employers, verification agencies or other institutions
  • use QR code verification to ensure authenticity
  • request paper copies of digital documents

Available documents

Document availability depends on your course and progression status. 

Available documents include:

    • Digital degree certificates – secure, verifiable proof of awarded degrees once programme has been completed.
    • Academic transcripts – official records of academic performance.
    • Eligible to graduate letter, where applicable.
    • Degree confirmation letter, where applicable.

Access your documents as a current student

You must use your University email address to log in to St Andrews Academic Documents.

A single payment of £20 gives you access to all eligible documents. 

Users who do not see their documents immediately should wait one working day before contacting assessment@st-andrews.ac.uk.

Access your documents as an alumni

As an alumni, you can access your official academic records online by registering to the St Andrews Academic Documents service.

  1. Go to St Andrews Academic Documents
  2. Click Register/Transfer. You will need to provide the following information to register:
  • Student ID
  • St Andrews email address
  • Known as name
  • Date of birth
  • Your current address
  • New personal email details

After completing the registration process, you will need to verify your personal email account. The system will send you an email with information on the next steps.

A single payment of £20 gives you access to all eligible documents.

Security requirements

As part of the registration process, you will need to complete biometric verification and set up mandatory multifactor authentication (MFA). These measures are essential to protect the integrity of your academic records.

  • Biometric verification ensures that only you can access your documents.
  • MFA adds an extra layer of security beyond passwords.

Together, these steps significantly reduce the risk of identity theft, fraud and unauthorised access.

Status letter

Registered full-time students can get a status letter using the self-service task on MySaint. If the task is not available, email transcripts@st-andrews.ac.uk to request your letter. 

Your status letter will be sent to your University email address.
