Franki's Café
Located just inside the Main Library, Franki’s Café is a bright and welcoming space perfect for a study break or a catch-up with friends.
Named after Franki Raffles, a feminist documentary photographer and University alumna, the café honors her legacy of activism and artistry.
Franki's Café is open from 8am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday.
Fairlie's Café
Fairlie’s Café serves Fairtrade coffee alongside breakfast rolls, soups, sandwiches, and home baking.
Named after Margaret Fairlie, Scotland’s first female professor and a graduate of St Andrews, the café celebrates her groundbreaking contributions to medicine and her determination to overcome barriers in a male-dominated field.
Fairlie’s Café is open from 8am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday.
UPDATES Café
UPDATES Café in the School of Physics and Astronomy offers a carefully curated selection of sustainable lunch options, snacks, and hot and cold drinks.
The café’s name pays tribute to a groundbreaking University research project: Ultrafast Photonics for Datacomms Above Terabit Speeds (UPDATES), a £10.5 million initiative that advanced laser technology to revolutionize internet speeds.
UPDATES Cafe is open from 8.30am to 3.30pm Monday to Friday.
Tindal's Café
Nestled within Walter Bower House at Eden Campus, Tindal’s Café offers a warm and welcoming space for staff, students, and visitors.
The café is named after Ken Tindal, whose work was instrumental in the creation of the Eden Campus—St Andrews’ hub for sustainable innovation and cutting-edge research.
Tindal’s Café is open from 8.30am to 3pm Monday to Friday.
