Abstract

This talk will explore the causes, upsides, and drawbacks of adjusting or introducing concepts and language for the purposes of inquiry. While technical concepts or language gives inquirers more expressive power and better mental resources for tackling questions, jargon can also hinder inquiry. Technical concepts and language raise entry barriers for engaging in the debate and in the process introduces an opportunity for the formation of verbal disputes.
