James Rae

I am a geochemist and climate scientist in the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences at the University of St Andrews.  Prior to St Andrews, I was a NOAA Climate and Global Change postdoctoral fellow at the California Institute of Technology, a postdoc and PhD student at the University of Bristol, and an undergraduate at the University of Oxford.  My interests in water, rocks and mud extend outside the lab, and into a variety of silly outdoor sports.

Please have a look round these pages to see what work I’m up to, and feel free to contact me with any questions.
