Welcome to the Celtic Society!

Founded in 1796, Celtic Society is the oldest affiliated student society at the University of St Andrews. Armed with the desire to maintain the Celtic tradition we now host regular ceilidhs and Scottish Country Dance classes for all levels.

Celtic Society of University of St AndrewsScottish Country Dancing and ceilidhs are our speciality!

Celtic Soc organises expertly-led weekly Scottish Country Dance classes (one for beginners and one for intermediates) and we visit other University dances all over the country throughout term time. From Aberdeen to Newcastle and beyond, you'll find us reeling away with the best of them!

We are a welcoming bunch! EVERYONE is welcome - from complete beginners to experienced Scottish Country dancers!

Each year we hold numerous ceilidhs, including one outdoors, the Ceilidh in St Andrews Castle in Spring. More events are planned throughout the year.
