Welcome from Supported Pathways
On this Supported Pathways introduction to study webpage you will find useful information about our sessions designed for new students to St Andrews.
We know that with the start of term coming closer, you are probably feeling excited and nervous in equal measure. Hopefully, over the next four days, we can help you find your way around the University of St Andrews and the town, understand what to expect, and provide information on how to get help with things.
This week we will have sessions from the following University teams:
- Student Services
- Study Skills Support Team
- Careers Centre
- Library
As well as hearing from the speakers, you will have a chance to chat to the Supported Pathways team and some current students and, hopefully, between us we can answer all your last-minute questions.
Whether attending in-person or online, you will be able to access the workshops and resources provided by speakers and members of staff on our Microsoft Teams channel.
Additionally, you will have access to chat by yourself with individual staff members at the end of each day. If you are attending in-person, please join us in the relevant day's menu at the end of each day. If you are an online student, please send a message on Microsoft Teams to request a one-to-one chat.

Student Life
While you are being introduced to the University a week early, Orientation Week officially begins on Monday 7 September 2026. During Orientation the town will be buzzing with activities and social events that you are welcome to attend. The best place to hear about events is on our University orientation app, which is available to download from the University Orientation webpages.
In the meantime, the following websites and webpages contain information on the wide range of societies, sports and activities you can get involved with at St Andrews.
