  Home to medieval maces, a vast array of artefacts, stunning art and world-class exhibitions that offer a reason to keep coming back, the Wardlaw Museum is the ideal venue to impress your guests with a drinks reception or small wedding.

  The museum can host up to 140 guests.

  Charges

  • Evening hire: £400 + VAT
  • University departments receive a 25% discount on evening hire rates
  • Full or half day by negotiation

• Wardlaw Museum Learning Loft

  

  This versatile room, equipped with sinks, projector and IT equipment, is perfect for meetings, small conferences, talks, seminars, group discussions or workshops. The adjacent Viewing Terrace offers one of the best panoramas in St Andrews, allowing guests to relax with a coffee while taking in views of the West Sands and historic Old Course.

  The Learning Loft can accommodate up to 40 people.

  Charges

  • Full day: £190 +VAT
  • Half day: £125 + VAT
  • Daytime hourly rate (minimum two hours): £35 + VAT
  • Full evening: £300 + VAT
  • Evening hourly rate (minimum two hours): £85 + VAT
  • University departments receive a 25% discount on daytime rates and a 15% discount on evening rates.
  • Each academic school, service unit and student society receives one free half day use of the Learning Loft each year.

   

• Hire a gallery

  

  Hiring a gallery for a talk, book launch or performance offers an intimate and atmospheric space surrounded by art and history. Choose from the Scotland's First University Gallery, where the maces provide a sparkling backdrop, or the Albany Gallery, where a programme of changing exhibitions means your guests see something different every time.

  The Albany Gallery can hold up to 40 people and the Scotland's First University Gallery can hold up to 30 people.

  Charges

  • Daytime hourly rate (minimum two hours): £80 + VAT
  • Half Day: £290 + VAT
  • University departments receive a 25% discount.

• Bell Pettigrew Museum of Natural History

  

  The Bell Pettigrew Museum of Natural History is one of St Andrews' quirkiest venues, described by Sir David Attenborough as "packed full of treasures and wonders." It offers a flexible space surrounded by natural history for an event your guests will never forget.

  The museum can hold up to 70 people.

  Charges

  • Full day: £400 + VAT
  • Half day: £230 + VAT
  • Hourly rate (minimum two hours): £65 + VAT
  • University departments can hire this space for free.

• Information for University Staff and Students on Internal Hire of Museum Spaces

  Events held in the name of an Academic School, Service Unit or Student Society can book museum venues with the following discounts applied:

  • Wardlaw Museum evening hire: 25%
  • Wardlaw Museum half day or full day: by negotiation
  • Learning Loft daytime hire: 25%
  • Learning Loft evening hire: 15%
  • Albany Gallery: 25%
  • Bell Pettigrew Museum of Natural History: 100%

  In addition, each academic school, service unit and student society receives one free half day booking of the Learning Loft each academic year.

  University staff and students can book the Bell Pettigrew Museum of Natural History for free for events taking place within normal building opening hours.

  We are not able to accept block bookings for recurrent classes throughout a semester. For this please contact the Timetabling team.

  Development use Museums spaces for events in support of their efforts to secure philanthropic support for the University without incurring room hire fees. Staffing costs will be incurred for out of hours events.
