Hiring museum venues
The Wardlaw Museum has four thematic galleries, a temporary exhibitions gallery, a viewing terrace and events spaces that are perfect for meetings, away days, conferences and receptions.
The gallery spaces are a superb backdrop for any evening event and a large room upstairs is suitable for meetings and small conferences. A stunning terrace offers panoramic sea views. The Wardlaw Museum is open to the public every day. Catering is permitted with some restrictions and disabled access is available.
The Bell Pettigrew Museum houses the University’s natural history collection and is a truly unforgettable venue for talks, performances, filming, meetings and receptions.
Museum venues offer unique spaces, but the very nature of what makes them special also means that there are some restrictions in what you can do in the space in order to protect the amazing artefacts and artworks that will wow your guests.
Only colourless drinks can be served in our spaces, meaning no red wine can be permitted. Depending on what is displayed in our temporary exhibitions it may be that no drinks can be taken into the Albany Galleries.
Food can only be consumed upstairs in the Wardlaw Museum.
There are also restrictions on the use of loud and amplified music to protect the collections from damaging vibrations.
You are welcome to discuss your requirements with us before booking to see whether museums work for you.
