The School of Medicine is committed to creating an inclusive and supportive studying and working environment in which all students and staff can be their authentic selves. LGBTIQ+ stands for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex and queer plus all other ways in which people self-identify in terms of their sexual orientation or gender identity.
The School of Medicine is a signatory to the UK Medical Schools Charter on So-Called LGBTQ+ ‘Conversion Therapy’.
The University is a Stonewall Diversity Champion. The University’s website has a list of LGBTIQ+ related resources, including a history of LGBT+ life at St Andrews.
The University has a Saints LGBT+ group for students, an LGBTIQ+ staff network and numerous role models, and our community is always well represented at the annual St Andrews PRIDE event.
