Workshops
Workshops from Semester 1 can still be accessed via the AES Moodle.
The Academic English Service (AES) provides different types of workshops.
General workshops
AES provides a wide range of general workshop programmes covering, for example:
- academic writing
- grammar
- presenting
- pronunciation.
Most of the workshops are open to all AES students, although some are designed for students studying at a particular level such as Masters students or doctoral researchers. These can usually be booked at the beginning of each semester.
Booking a general workshop
To book a general workshop, you will first need to enrol in the AES Moodle course, where you will find further instructions on how to book a workshop.
Assignment-specific workshops
AES is currently trialling workshops on specific assignments for taught post-graduate students studying modules delivered by the School of Management and on the Sustainable Development programmes. If you would like to request an assignment-specific workshop, please send an email to academicenglish@st-andrews.ac.uk giving the following information:
- module code
- module co-ordinator’s name
- assignment description
- predicted number of students attending.
This information must be submitted at least a month before the assignment deadline.
