Research opportunities

The School believes in the importance of creating a research environment that supports a diversity of approaches to research: lone-scholar projects and collaborative research teams. The School fosters informal networks among colleagues within St Andrews as well as formal and external collaborations that bring new skills and expertise to St Andrews.

At St Andrews, the School fosters an environment that promotes interactions among all members of our research community: inclusive, respectful and intellectually stimulating. The School is proud to hold an Athena SWAN Bronze award.

There are currently around 80 staff and over 100 PhD students, from all over the world, undertaking historical research at St Andrews.

The School welcomes contact with researchers interested in joining, whether in the short or longer term.
