Donors in Canada
You will find information here about making a tax-effective donation from Canada. If you’re not a Canadian taxpayer, please select the location relevant to you.
The University of St Andrews is deemed to be a ‘prescribed university outside Canada’ by the Canada Revenue Agency. This status allows individuals and trusts to claim a non-refundable tax credit for Canadian income tax purposes in respect of donations made to the University. Corporations may be eligible for a deduction in respect of such a donation. We issue tax receipts for all Canadian donations in a format approved by the Canada Revenue Agency. For more information please visit Canada Revenue Agency.
Please note that the Development Office will close on Wednesday, 24 December 2025 and will reopen on Monday, 5 January 2026. If you have any questions about making a gift during the holidays please email donate@st-andrews.ac.uk, this account will be monitored by staff throughout the festive period.
Please note that all gifts received or post-marked before 31 December 2025 will be processed after the holiday closure and acknowledgements will be issued with the appropriate date. All such gifts will be logged and acknowledged as received in the 2025 tax year. Gifts which are postmarked or made online on or after 1 January 2026 will be processed and acknowledged as the new (2026) tax year.
