Living there

Getting there and getting around

From Oslo Gardermoen Airport the easiest way to get to downtown Oslo is either by the Airport Express Train or the Airport Express Coach. The train takes about 20 minutes to the Oslo Central Station (Oslo S). The coach takes about 40 minutes to the Oslo Central bus station (Bussterminalen).

The University's buildings are spread out over four parts of Oslo with the main campus located on the western outskirts – a few minutes from the city centre. From the city centre you can easily get to the main campus, Blindern, by subway (T-bane) number 3, 5 or 4/6, or by tram number 17 or 18.

Accommodation

International students on exchange programmes cannot be guaranteed accommodation, but are placed on a prioritised housing list, provided they apply by the published deadlines. All of SiO's student villages are easily accessed from the city centre by tram or subway.

Most international students are given housing at Kringsjå student village where there is excellent access to public transport and fantastic opportunities for biking, swimming, skiing, hiking are minutes away.

Please note that St Andrews is unable to guarantee housing at any of our partner institutions. Guidance on finding accommodation abroad is available on the Global Office webpage.

Student services and orientation
