Coffee Connect will return during the next academic year.
It’s not always easy to connect with others, which is why the Careers Centre has teamed up with Development to bring students Coffee Connect.
Coffee Connect matches you up with an alumnus to have a relaxed chat over virtual coffee, discuss career matters, meet people and grow your network. Hearing graduates’ stories and learning from their experiences is a great way to get inspired about your own journey through university. The Careers Centre will take the stress out of networking by making the connection for you.
Coffee Connect is only one part of your career journey. Your connection might not have the answers to all your questions, but it will be an engaging experience.

Eligibility
All students, in any year of study, can participate in Coffee Connect, including postgraduates.
How to apply
All Coffee Connect pairings and communication will be through Saint Connect, the University of St Andrews’ global, online community for students, alumni and friends of the University.
If you do not have a Saint Connect account, you will need to join Saint Connect to participate in Coffee Connect.
Once you have joined Saint Connect, you will need to do the following to apply for Coffee Connect:
- Complete the Microsoft Form, which will only be accessible via Saint Connect. The form can be found in the Opportunities Hub under the Coffee Connect group for the relevant term. You will need to specify what you study and what you’re interested in so the best possible match can be found for you.
- The Careers Centre and the Development Team will use your application to connect you with an alumnus who has a similar background or interest to you. Make sure your profile is as detailed as possible and that you put every industry you would consider for connecting.
- The Careers Centre and the Development Team will alert you when they have matched you to an alumnus. You can then find your connection on Saint Connect by selecting 'Mentoring Relationships' from the Mentoring tab on the left side of the page.
- You’ll have a month to reach out and initiate a friendly, casual conversation over coffee.
