Welcome!
Welcome to the home page of the 12th Postgraduate Group Theory Conference. The conference ran from 28th-30th June 2010 at the University of St. Andrews, Scotland. It was the first time the conference had been held north of the border. The meeting wass generously funded by the London Mathematical Society and the Edinburgh Mathematical Society.
The website for the 13th Postgraduate Group Theory Conference in Aberdeen can be found here.
The Postgraduate Group Theory Conference (PGTC) is an annual conference
organised by and for current research students in all areas of group theory and related topics - from finite to infinite group theory, from Hopf algebras to matrix groups, from computational group theory to applications in cominatorics and number theory!
The aim of the conference is to allow research students to meet and discuss their research in a relaxed environment - to exchange ideas and get a flavour of the research done by their fellow group theorists. There will be the opportunity for students to present a talk during the conference.
The conference featured talks from two invited speakers: Professor Martin Liebeck (Imperial) and Dr Claas Röver (NUI Galway).
