VACATION AWARDS

The Student Staff Council makes available up to £3800 for summer vacation awards which are open to students pursuing a degree course in the School of Physics and Astronomy. Different types of awards are available, from major awards which enable students to go to a major international research laboratories such as the Fermi Lab in the US, the High Field Lab in Grenoble or an overseas observatory to individual awards to enable students to participate in a range of summer projects involving academic, creative or community work.  Applications are judged by the SSC Vacation Award Committee which consists of  staff and student  members. Details are posted in January each year.
