The Ladies' Golf Club is one of the largest and most thriving sports clubs at the University of St Andrews. Academic year 2010/11 was a year of huge development and success for the club. We achieved record membership, with over 270 girls joining the club and a whole host of new and exciting opportunities were created and opened to players of all abilities. Last year saw the 1st Team winning the Team Stroke Play at the Scottish University Championships and there were numerous other brilliant placings and wins throughout the year. This year we once again have the pleasure of being a Competitive Focus Club, which will enable the club to further develop and improve our offerings to members. The club provides a range of lessons for golfers, from beginner lessons for those who have never played before to a specialised and focused golf programme for the 1st Team. For those in between there's lots to get involved with, including our popular intermediate and advanced lessons and our ever strengthening 2nd and 3rd teams.

There's never a dull moment to be had with the club. Throughout the year we hold regular and lively socials, which enable members to get to know a large proportion of the club. Highlights from last year included the Golf Ball, the Christmas Dinner, a Superheroes Scavenger Hunt, a Flinstones social, our infamous Pub Golf evenings, a Cocktail Party and Prize Giving Evening, amongst many many other events. Our calendar ever year also features several away days and trips to championship courses, our annual Charity Tournament and a Golf Tour.

2010/2011 was a year of great adventure for the Ladies Golf Club! In February six girls went to Desert Springs in Spain for a wonderful week of warm weather training. A great chance to escape Scotland's snow and get ready for tournaments in second semester. The next adventure for the club was our tour to Sweden at the beginning of June! Eight girls attended the tour and played four rounds at some brilliant courses. The tour group included players from the first team right through to one player who had very recently just gained her first handicap. The Ladies Golf Club are as we speak are just about to send six girls to compete in the European University Championships in Slovenia and two girls are heading to South Africa to compete in a Ryder Cup esque competition alongside four of the Men's Golf Club. In addition, one of our 1st Team girls will also one of the three British girls selected to compete at the World University Games in China and she had a great two weeks out there.
There is quite simply no better place to start or continue playing than at the Home of Golf with the University of St Andrews Ladies' Golf Club!
