Editorial & CSEAR News
St Andrews Summit
This issue of SEAJ is more than usually late – but for more than usually good reasons. Without doubt the most significant development for CSEAR for some considerable time has been the progress of the `St Andrews Summit’. To recap, this term was coined by Jan Bebbington and Ian Thomson to refer to a series of mostly informal discussions – that had been held throughout 2005 over the future of CSEAR. I asked for comments and ideas in my editorial in SEAJ 25(2) and received a few comments, which resulted in the consultative piece I wrote in SEAJ 26(1). This in turn evoked some very detailed and helpful comments from seventeen members worldwide. Most comments have been very supportive of CSEAR. However, whilst issues such as the “quality of social accounting research”; “support for young scholars” and “the activities of CSEAR” received comments, the principal attention was focused on the structure and governance of CSEAR and on the future of SEAJ...
