A new Unit at the University will be in place for academic year 2011/12. The Centre for Academic, Professional and Organisational Development (CAPOD) exists to support staff and students in their development.
CAPOD runs a series of workshops throughout the year open to all staff, as well as a number of tailored development programmes to different staff groups e.g. New academics, Managers, Administrators, Apprentices, Postgraduate researchers etc. http://www.st-andrews.ac.uk/capod/

In addition to workshops and programmes, CAPOD also works with staff on a 1:1 basis or with complete teams. We can help with funding to attend external events, organise induction, evaluate student modules and oversee quality enhancement and assurance activities in the University. We have a wide remit and look forward to working with you as you begin your new role.
