The Guild of Clothiers is responsible for the garbing of the Shire. This means that we help members to design and make their own garb for feasts and the like, and also produce and keep a stock of costumes which can be distributed to the garbless at events. Everyone is welcome, from complete beginners to experienced sewers, and we can help with everything from finding cheap material, to adapting patterns to suit a particular period, to the lending of sewing machines. We also own a variety of patterns ranging from the fanciest of fancy dresses to the simplest fighting tunic.

Do you need a sewing machine for kit? We have many amongst the members of the shire and are more than willing to lend them out. Just contact Becca and she'll arrange the loan of one.

Rebecca Randell

This is my second year taking on this role. I really enjoy kit making although it's starting to cause problems with my wardrobe space! I’m happy to teach any enthusiastic person the art of dressmaking and using a sewing machine. I'm also looking to try and run a corset making course this year!
