![]() Berys GautBerys Gaut is Professor of Philosophy at St. Andrews. He holds a B.A. from Oxford University (Balliol College), and a M.A. and a PhD from Princeton University. His research interests include: aesthetics, especially its relation to ethics; the philosophy of creativity; the philosophy of film and film theory; and moral theory. He is the author of Art, Emotion and Ethics (Oxford University Press, 2007) and A Philosophy of Cinematic Art (Cambridge University Press, 2010) He is co-editor of the Wiley-Blackwell series, New Directions in Aesthetics; an Editorial Consultant to The British Journal of Aesthetics; a member of the Arts and Humanities Research Council Peer Review College; and Director of Research for the School of Philosophical, Anthropological and Film Studies. He has been awarded a two year Leverhulme Major Research Fellowship, to begin in September 2012, to work on a monograph on the philosophy of creativity. Publications Teaching ![]() |
