To drive the embedding and consistent application of best Procurement practice and to increase the sustainable Value for Money from the University non-pay expenditure - through Advanced Procurement across the Schools, Units and Residences of the University of St Andrews.

After working across Scotland with the Clydesdale Bank, Adrian joined the Supplies Office of Residential & Business Services in June 1994. Adrian has experienced the department gradually evolving and in the last 2-years in particular, undergo significant change to become Procurement as a unit in its own right.

Adrian is a graduate of MCIPS.

  • Capital projects
  • EU / general tendering and advising
  • APUC category A & B UIG groups
  • Assist with procurement policies, governance and legislation
  • Strategic sourcing
  • Contract management
  • Building Health & Safety Officer

Something about Adrian: Adrian's claim to fame is that he once sang with music legend Johnny Cash. Adrian is a doting Dad and has a keen interest in sport and music.

Sarah joined the University within Residential and Business Services as part of the Purchasing team in 1996. Sarah then became PA to the Director of Residential & Business Services until she joined the new Procurement team in October 2006. Sarah's role as Procurement Officer has changed significantly from her previous time in Purchasing.

  • Management of In-tend electronic tendering system
  • Administration of tendering process
  • Policy awareness on Purchase2Pay processes
  • Contract management
  • Office administration
  • Sourcing
  • Supervision of Procurement Assistant
  • General procurement duties

Something about Sarah: Sarah is a natural organiser and keeps the Procurement team on their toes and on target! She loves being a mum to her daughter, going to concerts and on theatre trips together. Socializing with friends and family is also an important and fun part of her life.

Alain Léger

Having relocated to the St Andrews area, Alain joined Procurement in October 2008. Alain has since developed the role and taken new responsibilities on. With a background in teaching and customer service, Alain brings to the team a cheery disposition and a more than helpful manner in assisting enquirers to the Department.

  • Procurement website administrator
  • Aptos system training
  • Data gathering, management and creation of reports.
  • Aptos support
  • E-procurement supplier adoption
  • Sustainable procurement

Something about Alain: Alain is a keen power walker, and takes part annually in the Moonwalk in Edinburgh, raising funds for breast cancer research. He also enjoys his role as the St Andrews Table Tennis Club chairperson and player of course! 

With France as his homeland - Alain's Procurement expertise is in the purchase of wine.
