Teaching

I am the module coordinator for FR2201 Second Level French Language (1). I am part of the teaching team for FR1001 French Language and Literature 1, FR2204 French Civilisation: from the Nineteenth to the Twenty-First Century, and FR4105 Communication Skills in French 1.

In Comparative Literature, I teach in the modules CO2001 Good and Evil and CO4030 The Short Story.

Research areas

I recently completed my AHRC-funded PhD in Comparative Literature, which explored literary translations from Arabic into French produced in Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia in the past decade. My broader research interests include:

reading in translation
plural 'Frenches' and 'Arabics'
North African fiction
material and print cultures
sociology of literature
postcolonial cultural policy & diplomacy
