Sanctuary Scholarships - Apply Now

The University of St Andrews is pleased to provide at least six Sanctuary Scholarships for undergraduate and postgraduate applicants who are seeking sanctuary in the UK.

The Sanctuary Scholarships are open to any applicant that has an official Home Office status as one of the following:

  • Asylum Seeker
  • Refugee
  • Humanitarian protection (with forced migration background)
  • Limited leave to remain (with forced migration background)
  • Discretionary leave to remain (with forced migration background)

The scholarships are open to applicants looking to start and undergraduate or postgraduate degree in 2026 - including the School of Modern Languages' in-person undergraduate degrees, Masters degrees, and research degrees.

The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of financial need and provide support towards tuition fees, accommodation costs, and living costs.

You can apply for the scholarship after you have submitted your course application for a place at the University of St Andrews.
