Jane is a Senior Lecturer in Physiology and an Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) practitioner and ally.
Since joing the School of Medicine in 2018 Jane has held various roles, including Director of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, Interim Deputy Programme Director ScotGEM (Year 1&2), ScotGEM CDP lead and module controller. Jane is a personal and portfolio tutor and teaches on the BSc Medicine, ScotGEM and MSc. Jane has been involved in curiculum design and has most recently been invovled with developing the newly launched MSc Health Professions.
Jane holds various internal and external roles in EDI. Having been directly involved with Gender Equality since 2014 (leading her former insittuion's Athena Swan work), she is currently involved in authoring the University's Athena Swan applicaiton. Jane regularly chairs Advance HE Athena Swan and Race Equality Panels and was, and is, one of the Athena Swan leads in the School of Medicine. Nationally, Jane co-chairs a group to "Tackle Sex and Gender Based Violence in UK Medical Education" and is a co-founder the national mentoring scheme, "AIMMS" and has developed professional links with the Gender Equality team at the University of Sydney.
