Young Researchers in Mathematics 2016

Young Researchers in Mathematics (YRM) is the UK’s largest mathematics conference run for postgraduate students by postgraduate students. The aim of YRM is to promote a fun, friendly and collaborative atmosphere in which participants can present and discuss their research with like-minded mathematicians at the early stages of their careers.

YRM 2016 will be hosted by the University of St Andrews from Monday 1 August - Thursday 4 August 2016 and has been organised by Oliver Allanson, Daniel Bennett, Tom Bourne, Cristina Evans, Zoe Sturrock and Sascha Troscheit, PhD students in the Mathematics department.

Internal students and staff are encouraged to attend

  • Monday-Thursday, Physics dept: All talks, invited and contributed
  • Monday 5pm, Physics Foyer: Welcome reception, with wine and canapés
  • Tuesday 6pm, Physics Lecture Theatre A: Public lecture by Professor Michael Edgeworth McIntyre, for which there is a wine reception with nibbles afterwards

Note: Please be sympathetic to the fact that the majority of attendees have paid to register, i.e. only those who have registered are eligible for lunches, teas and coffees.
