Dr Benet Reid
Associate Lecturer
Biography
Benet is a qualitative social researcher with interests in health practices and discourse, health knowledge production, health politics and social theory. He has trained in the study of Natural Sciences, Physiotherapy and Sociology. He is currently working on a review of literature around knowledge co-production, exploring concepts to create a typology of approaches in this area, as part of the EMBEDDED project.
Teaching is a central part of Benet's academic work. He has taught extensively on social theory, health sociology and sustainable development and most recently, he supervised geography students at St Andrews, in all cases earning praise from students and colleagues. He was student-nominated for a TEA award in his first year as a lecturer.
Benet has also been a stand-up comedian, and alongside his academic practice, works as an artist.
