Academic monitoring

The University is responsible for maintaining academic standards and the quality of the student learning experience. It is committed to regularly reviewing its academic provision and taking action to support quality assurance and enhancement in learning and teaching.

Together, these processes form an integrated academic monitoring framework aligned with the Tertiary Quality Enhancement Framework (TQEF), with oversight provided by the Academic Monitoring Group.

Institutional review

An enhancement-led review carried out by the Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) Scotland.
Annual academic monitoring

Each academic School is required to submit an annual report reflecting on their previous year’s teaching.
University-led reviews

University-led reviews evaluate academic provision and the student experience, supporting continuous enhancement and the assurance of quality and standards.
Module feedback questionnaires

Module Feedback Questionnaires enable students to provide feedback on their learning experience and help inform continuous improvement.
External Examining

External examining plays a key role in assuring academic standards and supporting the ongoing enhancement of learning, teaching, and assessment.
